On May 19, Senior Producer from the world- famous Al Jazeera Media Network, Shafik Mandhai, held a seminar in Eurasia Education Center, (which is located at Inshaatchilar Pr. 40, near Izmir Park).
The topic for discussion was Professional journalism: challenges and opportunities for news media.
More than (20) people from different schools and universities, as well as special guests, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev and a member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers Elchin Mirzabeyli took part at the seminar.
From the beginning of the seminar, the participants were involved in an interactive and exciting process of English practicing and discussion of the relevant topics about journalism. Shafik Mandhai spoke about his experience of working for Al Jazeera Media Network. He also shared his impressions from the recent trip to the front-line zone of Azerbaijan, where he visited the settlements of refugees and IDPs, talked with local residents and officials.
It should be noted that the trip was organized by the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF).
The participants of the seminar showered the guest with questions, trying to draw as much as possible from his international experience.
At the end of the seminar, the participants made a joint photo for memory and discussed ideas for the next seminar.
It should be noted that the Eurasia Education Center periodically organizes free seminars, trainings and conferences, with the participation of local and international experts. The purpose of these events is to create an interactive platform for discussing current topics and overcoming the language barrier among participants.
